Who are the Jones Boys?

The Jones brothers went out to NOLA and made us so proud! With the heat and humidity combined, it was a sizzling 100+ each day on the track!

Jabari did very good during his first appearance to the Jr. Olympics. He came in on his 200 meter dash with a time of 35.46, which was right around his personal best and we are VERY proud of him!

Jalen did extremely well in all his races during his 2nd appearance to the JO's. Jalen placed 82 out of 104 with a time of 2:38.15 in his 800 meter dash. Jalen placed 39 out of 83 with a time of 5:15.55 in his 1500 meter dash. His best race all year was the long distance, 3000 meter run, which is almost 8 laps around the track! Jalen placed 13 out of 52 with a time of 11:10.63 in this race! We are so very proud of Jalen, as he came out, waited hours upon hours on the hot track and still performed!

Words cannot express how grateful our family is for all the support via monetary donations, cake orders and well over 100 lumpia orders! The boys could not have had this experience without your support! Our family Thanks you, thanks you, thanks you!


You all met Jalen 2 years ago when he qualified for his 1st Jr. Olympic appearance in 2009 for being one of the top in the nation for his times in the 800 meter dash and 1500 meter run. Jalen has been training extremely hard to go back for his chance to compete not only in the 800 and 1500 meters, but also at his new favorite long distance race, the 3000 meter run!

This is Jabari's first year of running track and he qualified for the 200 meter run! This boy has got wheels I tell you!

The 2011 AAU Jr. Olympics are taking place in New Orleans August 1 - 6 and Jalen is back, stronger than ever! Jabari is ready to compete and is serious about winning! They are both ready to go out to New Orleans and bring home the gold! Run Jones Boys Run!

Going into the Jr. Olympics, Jalen currently ranks #7 in the nation for his 10:49.82 time in the 3000 meter run and #30 in the nation for his time in the 1500 meter run, at 5:08.26. Jalen also ranks #74 going into his 800 meter dash, at 2:35.22.
Both Jalen and Jabari are straight A, 4.0 students. Math is Jalen & Jabari's favorite subject, with creative writing being Bari's 2nd favorite. Jalen loves to read and does so on his own quite often. The Jones Boys understands that they are not just athletes, but a scholar athletes with scholar coming first! Let's send these boys to NOLA!

We need all the support we can get to send them there. Our goal is to raise $2,500 to pay for traveling, lodging and meals.

We will be selling lumpia, mini carmel cakes and cupcakes to help us raise funds. Orders will be available 3-4 weeks from when you place your order.

New Orleans

With Day 1 under our belt, Jalen placed 18 out of 47 in his 3000 meter run with a time of 11:27.45!! Go J!! The boys are beating the humidity so far and seem to actually like it:) crazy kids! We're in Day 2 and Jabari is ready to run his 200 meter and J his 1500 meter! Let's get it boys!

We all love Lumpia! There's never enough. Get your orders in now. 100% of all orders will help cover Jalen & Jabari's expenses for the 2011 AAU Track and Field Jr. Olympics. Help make a child's dream come true.

$15 for a dozen ground beef spring roll (egg roll) style Lumpia.

2009 AAU Jr. Olympics - Des Moines, Iowa

Jalen went out to Iowa 2 years ago and did us proud!

1500 meter run - Jalen placed 33 out of 46 with a time of 5:50.08. Jalen's new personal best time for this race is 5:08.26 so he should be on fire this year!

800 meter sprint - Jalen placed 37 out of 61 with a time of 2:46.61. Jalen's new personal best time for this race is 2:35.22 - Let's go J!
